Royal Mail tells seven-year-old they delivered card to his 'dad in Heaven'
A young boy who asked the Royal Mail to send a birthday card to his ‘dad in Heaven’ received a touching response assuring him that the letter had been delivered safely.
Seven-year-old Jase, from West Lothian in Scotland, lost his dad suddenly four years ago. He was just 28.
To recognise his father’s birthday this year he wrote him a card and posted it through his local postbox, with special instructions for the postman written on the envelope.
‘Mr Postman,’ wrote Jase, ‘Can you take this to heaven for my dad’s birthday thanks’.
While the young boy wasn’t expecting any sort of response, as the Royal Mail handle thousands of letters a day, he was thrilled when he received a letter back from them in the post.
‘Dear Jase,’ wrote Sean Milligan, assistant delivery office manager at the Royal Mail. ‘While we’ve been delivering your post, we became aware of some concerns. So I just wanted to take this opportunity to contact you about how we succeeded in the delivery of your letter, to your dad in heaven.
‘This was a difficult challenge avoiding stars and other galactic objects on route to heaven.
