The one very special detail you probably missed in Princess Charlotte's new pictures

Princess Charlotte

Princess Charlotte is turning four-years-old, and to mark the special occasion royal fans got treated to brand new photographs of the little one.

As it’s been customary for the Cambridge children, the new pictures were released ahead of Charlotte’s birthday and were shot by mum Kate in their country home in Norfolk.

The photographs were shared with royal fans on social media, alongside the message: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share three new photographs of Princess Charlotte ahead of her fourth birthday tomorrow.

‘The photographs were taken in April by The Duchess at Kensington Palace and at their home in Norfolk.’

But while fans have been gushing about how adorable Prince George’s little sister looks, you might have missed one very special detail.

In one of the three new portraits, Charlotte is wearing a very familiar outfit – and one that probably is very special to her and the rest of her family.

The cute blue dress is the same she wore when she went to meet her baby brother Louis in hospital, on the day she became a big sister.

On that day, over a year ago now, little Charlotte wore a dark blue cardigan over the flowery dress when she delighted journalists, photographers and royal fans waiting outside Lindo Wing with one of her trademark waves.

Eagle-eyed fans also spotted it looks like she’s wearing the same shoes George wore to the polo last summer.

One wrote: ‘Rewearing George’s shoes from polo last year! So sweet! 😍’.

Another also commented: ‘I love the fact thas she looks like a normal kid, not a royal - normal clothes, maybe even shoes after her big Brother.’

It seems like not even royal children are above hand-me downs – and doesn’t she look precious!
