• The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge battled it out during the King’s Cup sailing regatta • Prince George was spotted wearing a captain’s hat – and looked adorable! • This royal news comes after Prince George’s favourite part of his summer holiday was revealed

The Duke and Duchess were joined by Bear Grylls, John Bishop and Helen Glover as they went head-to-head in a competition watched by hundreds of excited viewers.

The couple arrived at The Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes, Isle of Wight to become skippers of their own boats, competing against six other teams.

But it was young Prince George who stole the show as he decided to wear his own captain’s hat for the event, fitting in perfectly with the other competitors who were taking to the waters to see who could be crowned champion.

Princess Charlotte was in attendance too, dressed in blue and white nautical colours that were just as fit for the occasion as her brother’s captain’s hat. It was lovely to see the children there to cheer their parents on.

But the four-year-old, who has previously showed off her infamous sassy side when she's been out and about, seems to have picked up a cheeky habit.

And while this isn't the first time the royal has been seen making the gesture, as she was also pictured sticking out her tongue when she was a flower girl at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, it seems to be a habit that she may have picked up from someone else in the family.

And, like most mums across the country would react, mum-of-three Duchess of Cambridge did not seem impressed at her daughter's behaviour.

Unfortunately for the Duke and Duchess, survival expert Bear Grylls won the first of the two races, with Prince William coming third and the Duchess of Cambridge coming seventh – second last!

The event was created to raise awareness and money for eight of the royal couple’s charities, including Child Bereavement UK, London Air Ambulance, Centrepoint, Action on Addiction, and Place2Be.

They’re hoping the event has the potential to become an annual one, in turn increasing awareness of the benefits of sport, as well as raising money and support for some very worthwhile causes.

The regatta allowed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to renew their sporting rivalry, and enjoy a fun day out with their children and sporting professionals.

The results of the second race have not yet been revealed, but we look forward to the result!
