Mum reveals the shocking reason behind mysterious mark in daughter's mouth
A mum has revealed the shocking reason why her daughter had a mysterious mark in her mouth, after rushing her to the GP.
Darian Depreta shared the ordeal on Facebook alongside a picture of the suspicious mark, explaining how she noticed it suddenly one day while she was playing with her daughter Bella.
She wrote in the post: ‘So I’m playing with Bella today and notice the roof of her mouth is black. I try wiping it to see if it would come off, and it didn’t. I immediately call Chandler, my mom and best friend in a panic. I make her a doctors appointment that was about 30 minutes from the time I noticed her mouth.
‘I get to the doctors and the Nurse Practitioner tried to wipe it, and said she had never seen anything like it. She decides to consult with the doctors and they suggest maybe a birthmark. I INSISTED it was not because I always look in her mouth and clean it.

‘I’m now being told that my daughter will be set up with 2 specialists. After insisting it wasn’t a birthmark on the roof of her mouth, the NP decided to take another look at this medical mystery.’
After the nurse practitioner attempts to scrape, they finally discover the mystery behind the mark.

‘ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS CARDBOARD FROM A BOX BELLA CHEWED STUCK TO THE ROOF OF HER MOUTH😭😭😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
‘I can never show my face in that office again. I cried/laughed for a solid 5 minutes straight’, the mum added.
After sharing the funny story however, the mum received criticism for ‘letting’ her daughter chew on cardboard, from people who said the baby could have choked on it.
Responding to the comments, she said how Bella managed to get hold of a piece of cardboard while she was loading the dishwasher.
She wrote: ‘And I don’t "let" my baby chew on cardboard. She’s teething and tries to chew on EVERYTHING.
‘She just so happened to find a box while I was loading the dishwasher , which I of course took off of her right away. I just didn’t realise a piece got stuck up there. I checked her mouth for small pieces right away.’
