Mum shares genius hack to stop muddy prams from getting floors dirty – and it’s cheap too!
One of the worst things about winter is a muddy pram. You need to take your baby out, but it’s been raining and there’s mud everywhere, and you just know you’ll end up dragging it home with you.
But finally, there’s a solution to our muddy prams problem!
Laura Siârn Outhart took to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to share her genius idea to ensure that your carpets are never ruined by dirty wheels ever again.
She revealed that she uses cheap shower caps to place over the buggy wheels as protection from the dirt.
Sharing her photo, she wrote, ‘£1 shower caps bought from Poundland. Ideal for popping over your muddy wheels to catch the mud when it dries and flakes off. Saves your carpets and floors getting dirty.
‘You can actually buy wheel covers for this purpose but this is definitely a money saving idea and works so well and you can keep reusing over and over again.’

The best bit is that these caps are reusable, and can be easily washed, so you can take them out with you whenever you need to. Who knew it was so easy to combat muddy prams?
Many mums were thrilled with Laura’s genius hack, with the post receiving 13,000 likes to date and over 4,000 comments.

One wrote, ‘Good idea I need to do this ‘
Another agreed with Laura, adding, ‘I bought the Cinderella ones a couple of years ago from poundland to use on the wheels too. So useful when putting pram in car too 😊’
A third said, ‘Such a good idea wish I’d seen this when we still used prams 😂👌’
Shower caps are widely available and are usually very cheap. Laura got hers from Poundland, but they're available in places like Superdrug, Boots, Asda and Sainsbury's too for a similar price.
Recently, another mum shared a brilliant hack to help stop avocados from going brown. It’s so simple, anyone can do it! Once de-stoned, it’s easy to copy this avocado hack at home which will keep them fresher for longer.
