Brooklyn Nine Nine star Melissa Fumero announces that she’s pregnant with her second child
Congratulations are in order for Brooklyn Nine Nine actress Melissa Fumero, who has announced she’s expecting her second child.
Melissa Fumero, who plays fan favourite Amy Santiago in the comedy series, took to Instagram to share the big news with fans.
She wrote, ‘Oh yeah, I’m hella pregnant. To be honest, I haven’t felt like posting about it because this pregnancy has been way harder and… I don’t feel that cute? But yesterday I got a really intense massage, an awesome chiropractic adjustment, and my hair feels thicker… so I feel a little bit cute today. ✌🏽🤓 #herewegoagain #babyboynumerodos’
Melissa Fumero and her actor husband David have been married since 2007, and this will be the couple’s second child.
Her hashtag revealed that she’s having another boy, meaning three-year-old Enzo will be getting a little brother soon. How sweet!

Some fans were speculating whether or not Brooklyn Nine Nine would choose to write Melissa’s pregnancy into the show. One fan excitedly wrote, ‘THEY SHOULD WRITE THIS IN FOR B99 Season 8!!!’
Last time Amy was pregnant, the series had incorporated it into an episode, where Amy went undercover at a women’s prison as a pregnant inmate.
In the plot, it was so she was less likely to be attacked whilst she was in there, which is a pretty smart move. Amy in seen moving her bump and saying, “I don’t know…do I even look pregnant?”
To which on-screen love interest Jake Peralta replies, “I mean, I guess I can see it.”
So since they’ve done it before, maybe series writers will find a new way to work with her pregnancy? Only time will tell!
