How Meghan Markle really felt about leaving baby Archie for the first time
Meghan Markle attended the Trooping of the Colour alongside the rest of the royal family over the weekend, but the event was also reportedly the first time she had to leave her baby boy…
The Duchess of Sussex had a little break from her maternity leave to celebrate the Queen’s official birthday, in what was her second Trooping of the Colour since she married Prince Harry last year.
Of course a lot has changed in a year – while she was a newly-wed then, now she’s a new mum. While other royal children were present – hello cheeky Louis – little Archie is still too young to participate in the event.
Both Charlotte and Louis were aged a little over a one-year-old when they attended Trooping of the Colour for the first time, while Prince George was nearly two.
While Meghan was all smiles during the appearance – and was even spotted having a giggle with sister-in-law Kate - the mum is said to have had a very difficult time leaving her baby boy.
An insider told Us Weekly: ‘She has spent almost every moment with him and saying goodbye was very difficult.

‘Meghan loved seeing all the other royal children and was doting on them. She has always been great with kids, but seemed to gravitate to them more.’
And Meghan is not the only one who can’t get enough of little Archie – Harry is also said to find it hard to leave his wife and son, even though is no longer on paternity leave.
The new dad recently spent a night away in Italy, as part of a royal engagement.
‘Harry left for Italy and it was very difficult for him to leave Archie and Meghan’, a source told Us Weekly. ‘He wants to spend every second he can with them.’
