Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have welcomed their first child together
Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have welcomed their first child together, it's been announced on the couple's official Instagram page.
The lovely news was confirmed on social media, with an official statement that revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now the proud parents of a baby boy.
The new royal baby was born at 5.26am at Frogmore Cottage and weighed 7lbs 3 ounces.
Speaking from Windsor, Prince Harry said today: 'I'm very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy.
'It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
'How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.
'We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.'

The statement on their Instagram page read: We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.
The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.
More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.
It's not known yet what baby name the pair have picked for their first child, but it's expected they'll make an announcement in the next few days - just like Prince William and Kate did for their three children.
It was last October that Meghan and Harry shared the news that they were expecting their first child, on the first day of their Oceania tour, following pregnancy rumours sparked by Meghan's outfit at Princess Eugenie's wedding.
The official statement read at the time: 'Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.
'Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.'
Their little one arrived just a few weeks before the couple celebrate their first wedding anniversary. The pair tied the knot in May last year, in a beautiful ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
The couple recently moved to a cottage on the grounds where they got married, with insiders saying it they decided to leave Kensington Palace - where William and Kate live with their three children - because they needed more space for their growing family.
Congratulations to the new parents!
