Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal baby is set to receive a very special gift from The Queen...
Everyone’s preparing for the imminent arrival of the royal baby – and none more so than the royal family themselves.
And with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby well on its way, it is expected that the Queen has been considering what she can gift the new arrival when he or she is born.
Well one expert has given a hint into the special item that the monarch might gift to her new great-grandchild.
According to gemologist and diamond expert Grant Mobley, it is like that her majesty will present her Botswana Flower brooch because of the significant meaning it has to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
‘There are many heirlooms among the Queen’s impressive jewellery collection, but the Botswana Flower brooch is a frontrunner as a potential piece to be handed down to the soon-to-arrive royal baby,’ Grant told Marie Claire. ‘Given to the Queen by the President of Botswana in 2007, the elegant brooch features 11 stunning pear shaped natural diamonds set in yellow gold.’

‘Botswana has significant meaning to Meghan and Harry,’ he continued, ‘after traveling to the country together in the early days of their relationship, Harry later chose a diamond from Botswana as the feature stone in Meghan’s engagement ring.
‘The natural diamond industry has transformed the country of Botswana,’ added Grant, ‘enabling every child there to receive a free education up to the age of 13. Prior to diamond discovery, Botswana was one of the poorest countries in the world, but since then it has been transformed into one of Africa’s most prosperous nations.’
Grant also added that he feels that if the royal baby is a girl Meghan will hand down the diamond earring studs she wore on her wedding day.
Well hopefully we won’t have to wait long to find out! Bookmakers have slashed the odds on baby Sussex arriving this Bank Holiday weekend so watch this space...
