Meghan Markle is fast approaching her due date, but what will she get up while she’s on her maternity leave?
The expectant mum is still busy carrying out engagements, having just got back from a royal trip to Morocco with husband Prince Harry.
But with her due date set to be sometime around April, it’s not long now until Meghan gets to enjoy a few months away from the spotlight, and settle into her new role.
Welcoming her first child will come at the same time as Meghan and Harry face another change – moving house.
The couple will soon be moving from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor. According to HELLO!, it’s likely the Duchess will take some time to help with the renovations and make sure the property is up to the couple’s standards.
She will also be getting used to living in the countryside, and walks in the fresh air with the baby, Harry and the dog.
Former royal chef Darren McGrady, who used to live next door to where Meghan and Harry will be moving to, told the publication: ‘Harry and Meghan can walk their dogs, go anywhere in the park freely.
‘From the front lawn of Frogmore Cottage, you can sit and look across at the Royal Household Cricket Club and listen to the wood on willow on a Sunday.
‘Then you can sit in the back garden and look out onto Frogmore Gardens which is where Harry and Meghan had their evening wedding reception. And then Sunday afternoon is perfect. You just walk five minutes up the hill for afternoon tea with Granny, with the Queen, at Windsor Castle.’
So when will Meghan Markle go on her maternity leave?
If the Duchess follows in Kate’s footsteps, she is likely to not have more engagements in March. Last year, before welcoming Prince Louis in April, Kate had her last engagement in March.
Meghan has an engagement booked on, which could potentially be the last time we get to see her in an official royal capacity.
It’s traditional for royals to take six months to adjust to motherhood, so Meghan should only return to her royal duties sometime after summer.
