Meghan Markle releases behind-the-scenes video after confirming Vogue magazine guest editor role

Meghan Markle has released a behind-the-scenes video of her collaboration with British Vogue, which shows her working alongside editor-in-chief Edward Enninful.

The Duchess of Sussex confirmed rumours that she was collaborating with the publication on their September issue last night, with a post on the Sussex Royal official Instagram account.

Alongside an image of the cover, which features a inspiring women from different walks of life – including actresses Salma Hayek and Laverne Cox, New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern and author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - it was revealed the Duchess worked on the issue for the past seven months, curating the content with British Vogue's Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful.

The pair wanted to ‘create an issue that highlights the power of the collective’, and called it ‘Forces for Change’.

The issue will also include an exclusive interview between The Duchess and former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, and a candid conversation between The Duke of Sussex and Dr Jane Goodall.

Speaking about the opportunity to guest edit the issue, the Duchess of Sussex said: ‘Guest Editing the September issue of British Vogue has been rewarding, educational and inspiring. To deep dive into this process, working quietly behind the scenes for so many months, I am happy to now be able to share what we have created.

‘A huge thanks to all of the friends who supported me in this endeavour, lending their time and energy to help within these pages and on the cover. Thank you for saying “Yes!” - and to Edward, thank you for this wonderful opportunity.’

Following the announcement, a behind-the-scenes video was also shared on the official Sussex Royal official Instagram, where Meghan can be seen working alongside Edward Enninful.

The caption of the clip read: ‘A sneak peek of the #ForcesForChange video for the September Issue of @BritishVogue. Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Sussex is the first Guest Editor for British Vogue’s September Issue and for the last seven months has worked to create an issue of inclusivity and inspiration, focusing on what connects us rather than what divides us.
