Kate Middleton's first royal engagement after her maternity leave is confirmed
After taking time off following the birth of her third child, The Duchess of Cambridge will return to work next week with an official royal engagement.
Last night Kensington Palace announced the news that Kate Middleton, 36, will return to duty with a visit to a charity in London.
The palace announced on Twitter page that the mother-of-three will stay close to home with her first engagement since her maternity leave with a visit to Sayers Croft Trust’s Forest School and Wildlife Garden at Paddington Recreation Ground on Tuesday 2nd October.
Sayers Croft Trust is a registered charity that aims to encourage the local community to enjoy and care for the environment.
With a focus on young people, the Trust aims to make all the facilities of Sayers Croft accessible to those who may otherwise be unable to use them due to physical, financial or social disadvantage.
While there’s been a lot of speculation as to when the Duchess would resume her royal engagements, Kate still showed her face around the community during her time off.
Since attending her last royal engagement in March of this year, Kate attended the Trooping of Colour and enjoyed watching the Wimbledon finals.

She also attended her brother-in-law and new sister-in-law Harry and Meghan’s Royal Wedding in May, just a couple of weeks after giving birth to her third child, Prince Louis, on 28th April.
And of course she was spotted at her youngest child’s christening on 9th July, which took place at The Chapel Royal in St James’s Palace.
The doting mum also took advantage of her time away from the royal circuit and took a holiday with her husband and children. For their first vacation as a family of five, the Cambridges spent a few weeks in the summer on a relaxing break in the Caribbean.
Kate is expected to have a busy autumn with big royal family events, including Princess Eugenie's wedding and the Royal Festival of Remembrance in November.
Good luck to the Duchess for her return to work!
