Hamilton’s Miguel Cervantes reveals three-year-old daughter Adelaide died in her mum’s arms
Miguel Cervantes, star of the hugely popular Hamilton show, is mourning the loss of his daughter after she tragically passed away in her mum’s arms on Saturday.
Three-year-old Adelaide Cervantes had been battling Infantile Spasms (IS) and epilepsy since she was a baby, as confirmed by the family.
The actor's wife Kelly shared a black and white photograph of Adelaide’s bedroom, which he reposted onto his own feed to announce the sad news to his followers.
Kelly’s emotional caption read, ‘The machines are off. Her bed is empty. The quiet is deafening. Miss Adelaide Grace left us early Saturday morning. She went peacefully in my arms and surrounded by love.
'Finally, she is free from pain, reactions and seizures but leaves our hearts shattered. We love you so much Adelaideybug and forever after 💔💜’.
The family also issued a statement to People magazine which read, ‘The Cervantes family is heartbroken to announce that their baby girl Adelaide Grace passed away early Saturday morning. She was held in the loving arms of her family as she peacefully achieves the “calm” for which they’ve been searching for so long.'
The statement concluded, 'They would like to extend their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with words of support and prayer and will continue to feel all the love as they go through this difficult time.’

They have received an outpouring of love and condolences on social media, with many people commenting on both Instagram posts.
Hamilton’s creative director David Korins said, ‘We love you so much. Heartbroken for you and your family’
Miguel Cervantes’ co-star Guiseppe Bausilio added, ‘My deepest condolences to you, Kelly, and Jackson. Sending peace love and strength 🙏❤’.
Adelaide’s first seizure happened when she was just seven-months-old, and was diagnosed with IS two months later. This is a condition where a child has lots of seizures in a short space of time, which causes abnormal brain activity and even possible brain damage.
As a result of her condition, Miguel and Kelly had to transfer Adelaide to hospice care in August, upon discovering that her brain had shrunk in size and that her condition was neuro-degenerative.
But the couple, alongside seven-year-old Jackson, were able to have Adelaide at home during her final weeks.
Following Adelaide’s death, Miguel Cervantes will be taking a break from his role in Hamilton, where he has been playing the role of titular character Alexander Hamilton in the Chicago production.
