Former Hollyoaks star Duncan James reveals heartbreak after his family dog passes away
Duncan James has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his family dog, after little Jack had to be put down.
The Blue singer revealed the sad news on Twitter, alongside a picture of his pet, explaining that he had to be out down due to his deteriorating health.
He wrote: ‘Our beloved family dog Jacque (jack) was sadly put to sleep today. @flitwicker was the best mummy ever to him and is very sad but his health deteriorated due to his diabetes and blindness. May he rip #loveyoujack.’
Duncan’s fans were quick to offer their support to the star, with many also opening up about how they struggled when their pets died.
One said: ‘Thoughts with you....it's an awful thing to deal with.

Another wrote: ‘I’m so sorry about your loss. He’s in a better place now and is not suffering anymore. I’m sure he left this world in peace ‘cause he had the best humans taking care of him and Loula as a sister. May he rest in peace. Sending all my love to your family Dunk. ‘

A third added: 'Awww sorry to hear that, Dogs are like a member of the family & it's heartbreaking to lose one. Thinking of you both. You both did your upmost best for Jack.'
The dog’s death comes just weeks after Duncan’s mum tried to fundraise £5,000 to be able to afford an operation for the pup.
Writing on a GoFundMe page, Fiona posted: I do not have this kind of money but desperately want to give Jack the chance to restore his precious eyesight as its breaking my heart to see him so disorientated in his own home that he’s known for so long!
‘Jack has been a constant companion to me, he is the sweetest loveliest dog one could ever wish for.’
She then decided not to go through with the operation as the vet said his health had deteriorated too much, and said she would refund people who had kindly donated.
Our thoughts are with Duncan, Fiona and the rest of the family.
