Blogger mum praised for opening up about fear of not loving second child as much as her first
Blogger Louise Pentland has received a heart-warming response after opening up about her parenting fears.
A British blogger has been praised by her followers on social media for opening up about her fear of not being able to love her second child the same way she loves her first daughter.
Louise Pentland took to Instagram to share a photo of herself pregnant and her first child, Darcy. She explained that she'd been thinking a lot about this time last year as her second baby, Pearl, was due on 1st January 2018.
Within the caption, Louise made the candid confession about her parenting fear, writing:
'I was really anxious that I wouldn't be able to love Pearl the same way I love Darcy, who feels just so so special to me.'
She continued: 'I didn't want to talk about that much because I felt pregnant women were supposed to instantly gush with love for their growing babe and I was still fearful. Anyone else felt like that?'
The blogger then encouraged followers to open up about their own concerns if they so wished: 'feel free to share your fears or support other women in the comments'

The post received hundreds of comments from parents praising Louise for being so honest about an issue that many find so sensitive, with one mum writing:
'Gosh I needed to read this today!! Growing a little human is sooooo hard, and I can't say all of it has been rosy so far (baby girl is due in May) To all you mum's out there, you're bloody amazing.'
Many others took to the post to share their own candid pregnancy stories:
'I hated my pregnancy, I felt no bond with my baby and I was terrified to say it out loud. I was unbelievablely grateful to be pregnant, she was a baby we'd spent so long trying for, but the second she was placed on my chest my world completely changed, in that moment I have never loved anything/anyone anymore.'
Another user wrote: 'I'm waiting for baby 2 to arrive any day and have been thinking exactly the same thing! Going to miss days with just my girl but also excited to see her bond with our little man xx'
Louise concluded her post by writing that as soon as Pearl was born on 14th January, her and Darcy's team had 'a brand new member', and she very sweetly added:
'Thankfully, a mother's heart is pretty cool because it doesn't half with a new child but doubles instead.'
'Essentially, and I hope you don't mind the bluntness here - it's OK to be scared that you might be a crap mum, your heart will surprise you.'
