Emma Bunton: I don't want to be in the gym when I could be with my kids

Shes secretly always been our favourite Spice Girl (shhhhhh, don't tell the others!) so we were pretty excited to interview Emma Bunton for an exclusive cover story in the June issue of Essentials magazine

As well as answering all of our probing questions, the Heart FM DJ and mum-of-two agreed to play a little game of Truth or Dare with us - watch her reveal guilty secrets and hidden talents in the exclusive behind-the-scenes video.

Her next birthday may be her 40th but Emma looks as youthful and bubbly as she did in her Baby Spice days so the first thing we asked her for was her secret...

Emma on taking care of herself...

I try to look after myself, stay active and drink lots of water, but I'm not neurotic about it. I don't want to be in the gym when I could be with my kids. One thing I could definitely do with more of though... is sleep!

On making her kids cringe....

I'm afraid I'm a bit of an embarrassing mum. As soon as they appear, I literally grab them and squeeze them and kiss them. Beau's only seven and he's already like, ‘Eurgh Mum, get off!' But I can't help myself. I know it's probably going to have to stop soon, so I'm making the most of it while I can.

On girl power...

It still means the same thing to me today as it did when we started. It's about empowering other women and having strong female role models. It's not like we're screaming and shouting and burning our bras; it's just about women supporting other women. We're all juggling children and work, so it helps to know we have one another.

Emma co-hosts London's Heart Breakfast show with Jamie Theakston, weekdays from 6am, and presents her own show, Celebrate Saturday, from 5pm to 7pm every weekend.
