Is this the most demanding birthday present request EVER?!
Just imagine what Myleene Klass would have to say about this!

Every parents wants their child's first birthday to be a memorable one. From the guests to the games, the cards to the cake, it's natural to want to have a say in all of the details so that you can make their day as perfect as possible - but we have to say, we think that these parents might have taken it a step too far...
Their incredibly in-depth email detailing exactly which presents to buy for a birthday party was shared on Imgur a few days ago, and has since gone viral due to its strict, demanding manner.
In the message, the unnamed parent requests that family members purchase one of four specific items that their son will 'really get a lot of use out of in the coming months', and asks that if they choose to get something that isn't on the list to 'please be sure to always include a receipt going forward,' because 'when we return items without receipts, we only get about 50% of the value, so it is like throwing money away'.

The protective parents even suggest that guests refrain from buying any presents that are personalised, as 'clothing with names is the #1 thing that leads to kidnapping'.
The letter comes just a few months after Myleene Klass publicly shared an email from mums at her daughter Ava's school, asking for expensive birthday presents including Kindles and furniture, and branded it 'bonkers'.

'I want my children to receive yo-yos, not Kindles. Being happy is not about stuff,' she explained.
This latest letter has divided opinions in the GoodtoKnow office - we're all for giving suggestions for presents if friends and family ask for them, and it makes sense to receive gifts that you know a child will use and enjoy, but providing such strict guidelines seems to take the fun out of buying birthday presents. Whatever happened to the word 'surprise?'
What do you think of the letter - a perfectly reasonable request, or micromanaging gone mad? Leave us a comment below and let us know!
