Danny Jones and wife Georgia open up about 'frantic' birth of first child

'I was trying to hold in the baby'

Danny Jones and wife Georgia have opened up about the birth of their first child, Cooper, two weeks after becoming parents for the first time.

McFly's Danny and his wife Georgia welcomed their little one at the end of last month, but now they've revealed things didn't go exactly to plan.

Georgia, who was nine days overdue when she went into labour, said she was having a bath when she started to feel an urge to push.

Danny told Hello! magazine: 'I thought this baby is going to be born at home in the bath...or in the car.

'I would love to see that CCTV of us arriving at one o’clock in the morning. I was frantic.'

Meanwhile, Georgia says she was trying to keep the baby inside until they were all set in the hospital.

'I was sat with my hands between my legs trying to hold in the baby', the new mum told the publication.

'All our plans for having lavender burning to keep us calm, and our favourite music playing went out of the window!' she added.

Cooper Alf was born just 36 minutes after his parents arrived at the hospital, at 1.36 am.

Speaking about their new adventure as parents, Danny said they are 'overwhelmed' with love.

'I keep telling her how proud I am of her, my respect for her went through the roof. Our little man's a ledge and we are overwhelmed with love', Danny said.

Georgia, who was praised for being honest about her postpartum body on social media, also revealed that Danny was very emotional during the birth of their first child.

She said: 'It just melts my heart to see them together. As soon as Cooper was born and he went straight on to Danny’s chest, he was in bits.'

Danny and Georgia first announced they were expecting their first baby together in July, saying that it happened quickly after they started trying.

'At first we were shocked when it happened as we'd been casually trying, but so many people have such a hard graft starting a family that we didn't really expect it to happen quickly', Danny said.
