'We're just as good as each other' Eight-year-old girl has amazing response to uninspiring girls' clothing

'Why should boys and girls clothes even be separated because we’re just as good as each other?'

Buying clothes for your children is an important part of being a parent. But now, one girl has brilliantly pointed out the unfair difference between the messages girls' and boys' clothing are promoting.

Eight-year-old Daisy Edmonds and her mum Becky, from Wilshire, were shopping in Tesco when Daisy noticed that slogans on clothes designed for girls were far more uninspiring than the boys' equivalent.

Her mum filmed Daisy's amazing response, which has since been viewed over 1.3 million times.

In a video posted to Facebook, Daisy pointed out that while the girls' tops said things like 'Hey', 'Beautiful' and 'I feel fabulous', the T-shirts for boys had for more exciting slogans like 'Hero!' and 'Think outside the box'.

Daisy said: 'It's unfair because everyone thinks that girls should just be pretty and boys should just be adventurous.

'I think that's wrong because why should boys and girls clothes even be separated because we're just as good as each other.'

In the video, Becky shares her daughter's point of view, calling Daisy her 'hero' and asks her whether they should buy her the green boys' top, with Daisy nodding in agreement.

Commenting on the messages behind the slogans, Daisy said: ''Think outside the box', what does this mean? It means go on your adventures, let nothing stop you, go for your own dreams. And 'hey', what is that even supposed to mean?'

She added 'I don't find inspiring. What part of 'hey' is great? I don't get it.'

But Daisy then went one step better, adding that because she thinks girls want to be heroes and have adventures as well, she went and put the some of the boys' t-shirts in the girls' section.

After reaching out to Tesco, the store responded to Becky's video, saying: 'We stock a wide variety of clothes suitable for girls and boys and listen to the views of our customers when reviewing our range.

We'd like to thank Daisy for her feedback an we can assure her that new styles will be arriving in stores shortly.'
