A dad has shared the final moments between his son and daughter in a heartbreaking image, just hours before his little girl passed away from cancer.
Matt Sooter uploaded the precious photo to his Facebook page, which sees six-year-old Jackson comforting his four-year-old sister Addy by resting his hand on her head as she clutches at his arm from her hospital bed.
‘A little boy should not have to say goodbye to his partner in crime, his play mate, his best friend, his little sister,’ Matt captioned the photo.
‘This isn’t how it’s supposed to be. But this is the broken world we live in.’
In 2016, Addy was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic potine glioma, a type of brain tumour that starts in the brain stem and affects the patient's muscles, nerves, heart rate and breathing.
Despite 33 rounds of chemotherapy and experimental treatments in Mexico, which cost the family £150,000, Addy’s cancer proved too much for her young body to fight.

‘Addy’s symptoms have progressed rapidly over the past day and a half,’ Matt continued.
‘Yesterday she woke up as her spunky playful self. While we still see short instances of our girl she can no longer eat or swallow without difficulty and she’s sleeping most of the time now and we’ve admitted her into inpatient care.
‘Most likely she doesn’t have much time left. Pray for Jackson. He doesn’t want to leave her side and we won’t make him. Pray for us. That we have the right words and can make the necessary arrangements in time. ‘
Just hours after sharing the tear-jerking photo, Matt broke the news that Addy had lost her battle with cancer and passed away in the early hours of the morning on June 3rd.
Matt said: ‘Our sweet little girl received the miraculous healing that we’ve all been praying for for so long and ran into the arms of Jesus.

‘She passed from this life to the next just as she had lived: stubbornly but also peacefully, and surrounded by family. She wasn’t in any pain at the end.
‘While this is only goodbye for now we miss our baby girl terribly.’
People who had been following Addy’s journey were quick to offer their condolences to the grieving family.
One person said: ‘It is impossible to stop my tears. Even when I don't personally know Addy or Jackson this empathy and sadness feels so natural and unstoppable, I'm really sorry for your loss from the bottom of my heart. This is so unfair. My prayers for you all.’
Another added: ‘This picture speaks volumes. Jackson will cherish this forever! The love between a brother and his sister.’
A third said: ‘My sincere deepest condolences. I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart and prayers are with you and your family.’
