Christine Lampard reveals stepdaughters reacted to baby news in the sweetest way

Christine Lampard has revealed how her two stepdaughters are already in love with their unborn sibling as she opened up about her pregnancy for the first time.

The 39-year-old, who announced on Wednesday that she is expecting her first child with husband Frank Lampard, revealed how Frank’s daughters - Luna, 12, and Isla, 10 - have already expressed their hope for a baby sister.

Speaking of how they reacted to the baby news on Loose Women earlier today, Christine said: ‘Oh my gosh they were just… excited doesn’t do it justice at all.

‘I happened to say to them that apparently at this stage the baby can hear voices so of course straight away they’re like, “I’m your favourite sister”… They’re chatting to my belly the whole time.

‘They phoned straight away – they’re just so excited. They want a girl, that’s their only stipulation.’

Revealing that she is 21 weeks along and ‘found out a while ago’ that she is expecting her first child, Christine admitted that she and Frank weren’t actually trying to get pregnant.

‘I wasn’t at all in fact,’ she said. ‘I think sometimes that can consume you too much. It was very much a case of let’s see what happens. I’m clearly not 18 any more so we weren’t sure it was going to happen.

‘We’ve just had the loveliest time between the two of us, going “oh my gosh I think it’s going to happen, it’s happening!”’

Despite feeling ‘nervous’ and ‘anxious’ ahead of her first scan, Christine revealed she took at least ‘seven or eight' pregnancy tests but didn’t tell her husband the good news immediately because he was in Manchester working.

‘I didn’t want to tell him because he was working, I didn’t want him to have all that craziness in his head – I wanted to see him, I wanted to have him back home.’

Frank also revealed the news of Christine's pregnancy in a family snap on Instagram, alongside Christine, his daughters – from his previous relationship with Elen Rivas – and the family pooch.
