Christina Perri welcomes her first child with husband Paul Costabile

Christina Perri has welcomed her first child with husband Paul Costabile.

The lovely baby news were announced by the The Jar of Hearts singer's husband, Paul, who took to social media to share a picture of their little family.

The pair decided to keep the gender of their little one a surprise, but Paul has now revealed that they welcomed a baby girl.

The new dad also told fans what baby name they picked for their little 'princess' - Carmella Stanley Costabile.

Alongside the adorable black and white picture, he wrote: 'The greatest gift we’ve ever known !!! Welcome to the world Carmella Stanley Costabile born today. Mom and our little principessa are doing great. Dad can’t stop crying!'

Fans of the pair were quick to send them lovely messages to congratulate them on their bundle of joy.

One said: 'I'm so happy for you both! Congrats!!', while another wrote: 'Woohooo!!! Congratulations Mom and Dad!! She’s BEAUTIFUL!! Much love and hugs!! Xoxoxo ❤️'

A third also commented: 'AAAAH OMG!! Growing up with Christina, I’m so glad to see this moment. You guys are gonna be great parents! Congratulations! Wish CP is okay. Sending big love to you and Carmella ❤️🙏🏻'

Christina and Paul announced they were expecting their first child back in August, by posting a black and white snap of her three-year-old niece Tesla cradling her growing bump.

The snap was accompanied by a graphic laid over it that read 'Tesla's little cousin is coming soon', and the cheeky caption 'guess what?'.

The two shared even more special milestones last year, as they got engaged in June, and tied the knot in December.

She took to Instagram at the time to share a black and white picture of the newly-married couple, where she's seen sporting a massive baby bump.

Alongside the picture, she wrote: 'On this day four years ago, we met. today, WE GOT MARRIED!!! 👰🏻👶🏻🤵🏻'
