Chrissy Teigen reveals the personal reason why she won't get baby Luna's ears pierced
The mum-of-one is pretty adamant about this
Chrissy Teigen has revealed the personal reason she won't be having her daughter Luna's ears pierced any time soon.
The 31-year-old - who shares 18-month-old Luna with singer John Legend - has decided to let the choice fall to her daughter when she's older.
Talking to E! News she said: '[Luna] doesn't have her ears pierced and I'm going to let her decide when she wants to do that.'
The decision was made as a result of Chrissy's own experience with getting her ears pierced as a child.
'I remember when I was little what I went through. My mum did it for me,' she recalled.
Piercing a baby's ears is still a very controversial subject in many circles, and piercing your child's ears at any young age is a personal decision - usually rooted in family or culture.
However, piercing a child's ears too early could open an opportunity for infection, which is why most experts recommend to wait until at least six months of age for them to be pierced.
