Carrie Underwood sparks debate after she admits to feeling too old for a big family at 35
Do you think 35 is too old to have a bigger family?
Carrie Underwood is mum to three-year-old Isaiah but fears she's missed the opportunity to have a bigger family at the age of 35 – much to her fan's surprise.
The singer opened up about her fears in an interview with Redbook but fans have reassured Carrie that she still has time.
Carrie said: 'I'm 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family. We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older.'
She added: 'In the meantime, we're lucky to be a part of organisations that help kids, because our focus right now in our lives is helping as many kids as possible.'
With many women choosing not to start having babies until they reach their mid to late thirties and with with the news that people like Brigitte Nielsen, 54, and Denise Lewis, 45, are having more children, some of Carrie's fan have questioned why she's ruling out having more of her own children.
One person wrote on Twitter: 'Carrie, you can still have babies at 35...women are having babies later in life than your mother Carol’s generation! They try to establish their careers where Mom’s generation a lot of times were happy as housewives. Nowadays, you need two salary’s to make a "go of it" w/children'.
Another simply said: '35 is not too old, 35 is not too late, 35 is fine.'

However other fans were quick to defend Carrie and that they could understand her point of view and were not offended by the comments.
One person said: 'If you're upset about the statements @carrieunderwood made about fertility, you're part of the problem here in the states. Why get upset about something so trivial? I'm trying to have a kid at 43 and I don't mind what she said. Leave her alone for crying out loud..'

A third added: 'I feel bad you're getting backlash for making a comment about missing your chance for a big family since you're 35. They need to mind their own business. Ppl have no idea what kind of parent you want to be or what kind of health issues you could be having.'
What do you make of Carrie's comments? Is it unreasonable to say she fears not being able to have a big family at 35 or can you relate? Head over to our Facebook page to join the conversation!
