Cardi B confirms pregnancy on live TV

Congratulations are in order for chart-topping rapper Cardi B – who confirmed she is pregnant with her first child on live TV.

The 25-year-old, who is engaged to hip hop artist Offset, proudly showed off her baby bump during a performance on Saturday Night Live after months of speculation that she is expecting.

Wearing a tight white dress, Cardi’s baby bump reveal came as the cameras panned down to show off her stomach during a rendition of her track Be Careful over the weekend.

She later confirmed the pregnancy and revealed that she had kept it secret for so long because she didn’t want her happy news tainted by social media trolls.

‘This is why I did not wanted to say nothing. People be so thirsty to scrutinize and try to destroy something that it suppose be a blessing’,’ she said in a now-deleted post on Instagram.

Cardi also tweeted: ‘I started winning when the whole world was doubting on me !think imma lose with my little baby counting on me?’

Her fiancé Offset also confirmed the news with a sweet post on Instagram, sharing a snap of himself and Cardi with the caption: ‘Thank you for all of your support. We feel so blessed.’

He also echoed the sentiment on Twitter, writing: ‘Cardi and I look forward to our next chapter together’.

Twitter soon erupted with messages of congratulations for the star, who recently hinted that people would only know if she was pregnant once the baby arrives.

One fan said: ‘I’m so happy someone like @iamcardib is winning.’

Another wrote: ‘Awwwww FINALLY she's showing it, #CardiB is Pregnant.’

A third said: ‘CARDI B ANNOUNCING SHES PREGNANT WHILE SINGING BE CAREFUL ON SNL, ABSOLUTELY ICONIC AND UNFORGETTABLE’.

Cardi’s sister Hennessy Carolina also shared a sweet post on Instagram, she said: ‘A baby is truly a blessing from god I know how much you always wanted to be a mom!

‘You always been Like a second mom to me so I know u gonna be the best mommy everrrr. you took care of me like i was ur own daughter I know how much you LOVE babies.’

She added: ‘I’m going to be able to hold ur baby and give the baby all the kisses and hugs! your pregnancy is mines we pregnant can’t believe we’re having a baby!’
