British couple become the world's oldest newlyweds after finally tying the knot
Who says you can be too old for love?
An elderly couple from Sussex have become the world's oldest couple to walk down the aisle with a combined age of 194 between them.
George Kirby, 103, married his girlfriend Doreen Luckie, 91, in June of this year at the Langham Hotel in Eastbourne, but they have had to wait till now to be verified by the Guinness World Records.
It has been officially confirmed that the pair are the world,s oldest newlyweds, tallying up 194 years and 280 days on their wedding day.
Having dated for 27 years since 1988, they met through an organisation that helps older people make friends.
Doris, a widow, said; 'He used to come to my house. We got on straight away. He liked the roses in my front garden – he was a real smooth talker.'
An audience of 50 guests saw them tie the knot, including one of George's sons Neil who was his best man on the day.

Neil said; 'It was a great day. They are such a beautiful couple... it's about time my dad finally made an honest woman out of her.'
George, who was born in London in 1912 and worked until he was the ripe age of 94, proposed over a Valentine's Day dinner earlier this year.
After finally bowing to pressure from their seven children, fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, the RAF veteran was 'so happy' his bride said yes.
'I didn't get down on one knee, because I don't think I would have been able to get back up.'
George, who had to miss his stag do, said; 'It's about time, really. Doreen keeps me young and I can definitely say we're going to spend the rest of our lives together.'
But Doris wasn't put off my George's tame partying as she continued to have a hen party lunch with her 'golden girls'.
The Brixton-born pensioner said; 'I wasn't a blushing bride, but I was a bit giddy. It was a lovely day.'
