Brian Conley announced as the 10th contestant for Strictly Come Dancing 2017
We've hit double digits
Brian Conley has been announced as the 10th contestant for Strictly Come Dancing 2017.
The news was announced on BBC Radio 2 on the Steve Wright show, with Brian saying of his new role on the dance floor: 'I'm delighted and honoured to be asked to strut my stuff on this year's Strictly.'
'My family all love the show and can't wait to see me do my Dad dancing on national television. I know it's going to be a lot of hard work but I'm up for the challenge, so bring on the spray tan and sequins.'
Brian joins comedienne Susan Calman, JLS band member Aston Merrygold, TV chef Simon Rimmer, Holby City's Joe McFadden, writer and broadcaster Reverend Richard Coles, former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson, This Morning and Loose Women host Ruth Langsford, EastEnders' Davood Ghadami, and The Saturdays singer Mollie King, all of whom have confirmed that they've signed up to take to the dance floor for Strictly's 15th series.
Fans on Twitter were thrilled to see Brian join the line-up and bring the total number of contestants up to double digits.
'Finally someone with some personality ❤️❤️❤️ love this choice,' one applauded, followed by another who said: 'Yay this is the best strictly announcement yet. Can't wait.'
'Best announcement yet!!!' a third exclaimed. 'Looking forward to seeing Brian shaking his stuff on the dancefloor!'

'Fabulous news, really can't wait for it to start now, a reason to watch T.V. 😘' another agreed.
Brian has had an extensive career over 40 years on TV and film, and has also starred in a number of musicals in his time, so we reckon he'll be a dab hand at memorising the Strictly moves.
