Boots urgently recall two sets of dummies for newborns and babies over choking hazard fears
The products have a 'potential manufacturing fault'
Boots have issued a product recall for two of their own brand sets of dummies, over fears they could be a choking hazard for babies.
The brand informed customers on their Facebook page that they have found a 'potential manufacturing fault' in two of their Boots Baby Soothers, and so decided to recall them as a 'precautionary measure'.

The products affected are the Boots Baby Airflow Soother 0-6 months and the Boots Baby Airflow Soother 6 months, which the brand are asking customers to return as soon as possible.
While they didn't specify exactly what the cause of concern was regarding the faulty dummies in their initial post, a spokesperson for the pharmacy chain later confirmed what was wrong with the products.
Responding to a concerned parent on their Facebook page, they revealed that the fault with the dummies had to do with its silicone teat, which is at risk of tearing and could pose as a choking hazard.
The mum wrote on the comments section on their Facebook post: 'I've had these for past 3 weeks what is the actually fault as my daughter's been fine with them!'

To what the brand replied: 'We take the safety of our customers very seriously. If a tear can occur in these soothers there is a risk that the silicone teat might be torn off which could cause a choking hazard.'
Boots have also confirmed that the measure is purely 'precautionary', as they haven't been informed of any incidents involving the product.
'We would like to reassure customers that this recall is precautionary, we are not aware of any incidences of harm', they said.
The post got a lot of attention, not only from parents but also from users who were tagging their family and friends to make sure they weren't letting their babies use these dummies.
Customers who've bought either the Boots Baby Airflow Soother 0-6 months or the Boots Baby Airflow Soother 6 months should return the products to a Boots store as soon as possible, where they will be fully refunded.
