'A surgery isn't birth, my dear' Birth photographer shames expectant mother for having C-section

A woman who was having a C-section to birth her baby was shamed by the photographer she wanted to hire to document her little one's arrival.

The expectant mother shared a screenshot of the text conversation she had with the birth photographer, who remains anonymous, on social media.

In the text, the woman tells the photographer she didn't 'opt' to have a C-section, and that she was unaware birth photographers discriminate against people who do not have natural births.

'I did not 'opt' for anything but alright. I had no idea birth photographers discriminated people for how they birth their babies but that's good to know. Have a nice day', she wrote in the text.

It was then that the photographer attacked the woman for having a caesarean, saying that she wasn't giving birth, only having surgery.

'A surgery isn't birth my dear. You aren't giving birth. You are having surgery to remove your baby from your abdomen. That is not birth no matter how you swing it and I for one don't want to be there to take pictures of it.'

The photographer goes on to say that the woman should not start motherhood - a 'hard' job - by 'cutting corners'.

'If you decide to give motherhood a go from the get and have an actual birth let me know and we can schedule your session', the text read.

'This motherhood job is hard, if I were you I would think twice about starting such a job by cutting corners so early in the game.'

The photographer's messages are shocking people on social media, clearly angry that the professional doesn't consider C-section to be a 'birth'.

'So c-section babies don't have birthdays then I guess, since they are never born', one user wrote.

'I'm in Pinterest hell planning my daughters mermaid "birth"day party right now. I'll break it to her gently that it will now have to be a mermaid surgically removed day party. Now I have to make a new banner', another mum wrote on the post, making fun of the fact that babies born via C-section don't have birthdays.

'Yeah! We should all ignore medical advice and have high risk births! Breach baby? Placenta Previa? Multiples? Dangerously high BP? That doesnt matter!. Who cares if you or your baby die. At least your birth photographer will know you didn't cut any corners', a mum wrote in the comments sections, pointing out to the fact that C-sections are usually medically advised in case of risky births.
