Beyoncé displays her growing baby bump at 'Carter Push Party' ahead of the birth of her twins

The star announced she was expecting back in February

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have thrown an incredible 'push party' to mark the impending arrival of their twins.

The couple, who are already parents to five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, hosted a lavish celebration, with guests including Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles, former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and friend and tennis pro Serena Williams, who recently announced her own pregnancy.

Beyoncé, 35, took to Instagram to share a few snaps from the occasion, showing off her bare baby bump adorned with an elaborate henna design.

The party is said to have been held at a private residence in Beverly Hills, which was once owned by Madonna.

A source told E! of the event: 'The party was very family friendly with Blue Ivy and lots of her friends running around the grounds of the estate.'

'There was a huge tent erected on the property where most of the shower took place. The decor was African themed and very colourful with lounge seating areas, floor pillows and rugs on the floor.'

'The tables had lanterns, wooden elephants and pink and white roses for centerpieces. There was also a henna tattoo artist and African dancers and drummers walking around. A huge soul food buffet was served for a late lunch.'

According to the report, Blue Ivy is ready and raring to become a big sister, as the insider added that she was kissing and rubbing her mother's belly.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z confirmed that their family was 'growing by two' back in February, telling fans: 'We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over.'

They have not yet confirmed the due date of their new additions, although Beyoncé's father Matthew Knowles recently said to TMZ that he believed she had a few more weeks to go.
