Christian Louboutin releases baby shoe range complete with trademark red soles
There's a celebrity mum behind the brand new collection too...
In a world where prams can cost well over £1,000, and couture for kids is as common to see now Gap basics, it's no surprise that designer shoes for babies are fast becoming the latest (expensive) trend for tots.
Famous for his red-soled stilettos, shoe designer Christian Louboutin is probably more used to counting supermodels as clientele rather than toddlers, but the French-born fashion designer is now turning his hand to children's shoes, along with the help of an A-list Hollywood celeb.
Teaming up with lifestyle-brand Goop, launched and owned by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, Christian Louboutin is launching a limited-edition capsule collection exclusively for the tiny feet of toddlers.
Named the 'Loubibabys', the little shoes will come in three colours; satin pink, satin blue and gold. They all feature the same sweet bow and, of course, the signature red sole that Louboutin is so well known for.
The designer called creating the collection with award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow 'serious fun'.
Talking about her decision to collaborate with Christian on his first collection for children, Gwyneth called it 'an honour' and described how she hoped the shoes would become 'investment pieces' that would be passed on through different generations of family members.
'Goop's fashion ethos has always centred on trendless quality' Gwyneth said in a statement about the new collaboration.

Available from November 16th on Gwyneth Paltrow’s website goop.com, you'll need to have plenty of savings to be able to afford a pair of these darling designer shoes. With a price tag of $250 - or around £191 - a pair, you'll certainly be paying for Louboutin's famous name and years of expertise!
