Mum goes viral after warning parents to keep children's cots apart from each other

A mum has gone viral after warning other parents about the dangers of having two children's cots placed next to each other in a bedroom.
Alison Johnson took to Facebook to share her 'traumatic' experience with friends and family but never expected it to amass over 40,000 shares in less than one week.
The mother-of-three from Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, has her 20-month-old twins Caleb and Libby in the same bedroom with two adjacent cots - something she never imagined would be a potential danger when baby proofing.
Alison knows that 'lots of her friends' with twins or children close in age have a similar set up in their children's bedrooms.
The experience, which Alison describes as a vision 'that will never leave my head' happened during Caleb and Libby's nap time.
Alison explained; 'This morning I put Caleb down for his nap. Shortly after he started to cry. After a few minutes, I went in to check on him.
'He had climbed out of his crib and was stuck between his crib and Libby's crib. His body fit through, but his head wouldn't.

'He was using every ounce of energy he had to hold himself up by his little arms. If they had given out, he would've just been hanging there by his head.'
Alison, who also has a two-month-old daughter Whitney, was aware that the situation could have been much worse if she had not been able to hear Caleb crying.
'What's even more scary is that like many moms, I generally use naptime as an opportunity to shower. Had I done that today and checked on him after five minutes, he would have literally hung himself.'

The mum wants to warn parents that when they are baby proofing to see this as dangerous and to encourage them to share with others who may have a similar cot setup at home.

'It's incredibly heartbreaking to think of what the outcome could have been today. I'm still totally shook up over it and don't think the vision of him stuck there will ever leave my head.'
