Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria announce they are expecting a baby boy

Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria have confirmed that they are expecting a baby boy.

The couple are already parents to three children - Carmen, four, and sons Rafael, two and 13-month old Leonardo - and now Hilaria, 33, has announced the exciting news of their fourth baby on Instagram, after cutting into a gender reveal cake with a blue centre.

Sharing the news with her 274k followers on the social media platform, she wrote: 'Ready for it??? Watch and see...girl or boy! And swipe for more pics! We had so much fun doing it this way ❤️'

The star previously shared an image of the cake which had the word 'Baby?' on the top in sprinkles.

'It's 9:30 and we have finally finished the cake 😂!' she exclaimed. 'Carmen is still up and has eaten SO much funfetti 🤦🏻♀️. I'm so excited to tell you all tomorrow if it's a girl or a boy!!! I'm gonna have the kids cut the cake with us!! 💙💖💙💖💙💖💙💖'

These sweet snaps come after the couple announced they were expecting baby number four on Hilaria's Instagram account, sharing a cute picture of them all together lying on the floor.

Captioning the photo, Hilaria wrote: 'Our Baldwinitos are getting a new teammate this spring,' adding that she had already formulated her plan to make a gender reveal cake with her little ones.

Fans have been quick to send messages of congratulations to Hilaria and 59-year-old Alec, with one writing: 'Congrats another boy!! ❤️'

'Hope you'll have a beautiful pregnancy congrats,' a second agreed, while this follower made a joke about names to go with baby Leonardo: 'So amazing, Hilaria! The question is.....Donatello or Michelangelo ?? 😂😂😂'

Another added: 'Boy oh Boy! Alec throws a strong Gene'.

Hilaria previously revealed she wants another baby with Alec, who also shares 22-year-old daughter Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Alec, 59, and Hilaria met in August 2011 and tied the knot in June 2012, with their first child Carmen following a year later in August 2013.
