Alanis Morissette shares intimate breastfeeding picture featuring her whole family
The picture was in support of World Breastfeeding Week.
Singer Alanis Morissette has shared a picture of herself breastfeeding her daughter beside her husband and son, as they smile for the camera.
Alanis shared the picture on Instagram to help raise awareness for World Breastfeeding Week.
With over 340,000 followers Alanis will be more than aware of the influence she can have on people and has used her profile to raise awareness for breastfeeding in an attempt to break the taboo and encourage more new mothers to try it.
The picture is a throwback to when she welcomed her now two-year-old daughter Onyx Solace to the world.
Alanis is sat on what looks like her bed with Onyx feeding, her now seven-year-old son Ever Imre doting over his baby sister, and husband Mario Treadway smiling into the camera.
For the caption Alanis simply wrote: 'happy #worldbreastfeedingweek ❤❤❤'.
The picture has received nearly 20,000 likes in under 24 hours and many of her followers have praised the mum-of-two for spreading awareness.

One person wrote: 'Wonderful to see you supporting the cause❤Boobs give life and happiness. I hate to see such hate towards one of the most natural things in the world. Thank you✌🌈'.
Another said: 'Congrats beautiful lady. Thank you so much for sharing this picture, it shows that breasts - and breastfeeding - are just part of being human.'
A third added: 'I can think of no more worthy cause to throw your celebrity behind.'
As you would expect the post did have its critics but they were overwhelmingly outnumbered by supporters.
Posts like this are incredibly important for mums-to-be and new mothers who may not feel confident about trying to breastfeed or are nervous about doing it in public.
The UK has one of the lowest rates of breastfeeding in the world with only one per cent of babies still being breastfed by the time they are six months old.
TV presenter and new mum Kate Quilton recently fronted a Channel 4 documentary about breastfeeding, which investigated attitude towards it and the lack of support many new mothers receive.
She also spoke to GoodtoKnow and revealed she had also experienced breastfeeding shaming while feeding her son in public.
World Breastfeeding Week is from Wednesday 1 August to Tuesday 7 August. You can expect to see lots of celebrities joining the cause and trying to raise awareness.
