Kym Marsh opens up about heartbreak as she reveals she'll have to say goodbye to her boyfriend
Kym Marsh has opened up on heartbreak as she is set to have two sad goodbyes coming up.
The soap star, who has played Michelle Connor in ITV’s Coronation Street for the last 14 years, will be leaving the soap in the next month.
However, she has opened up to The Sun, revealing that, as sad as she will be to leave the soap, the thing she’s most worried about is having to say goodbye to her beau.
The actress has been in a relationship with army major Scott Ratcliffe since last year and he will soon be going on tour to Afghanistan.

“There is always anxiety, it is always stressful when he goes away,’ she said. “There may not be an actual war threat currently but there’s always a risk when you’re in these dangerous places.

“If he’s on a base he can get in touch, but there are times when he is out on exercises and I don’t hear from him for three weeks because there is just no signal.
“In some areas there is just nothing, he went to Kenya and for two months we barely spoke a word.
“He always says that it’s the families at home who are the brave ones — they just don’t see themselves as brave at all.

The former Hear’Say singer lost baby son Archie back in 2009, when he was born 18 weeks early.
Her baby son, who she shared with ex-partner Jamie Lomas, survived just a few minutes after he was born.
Opening up about the heartbreak, Kym said that the highlight of her soap career was when she acted out a similar storyline in an effort to raise awareness of the issues surrounding the loss of a baby.
“They asked me first if I was OK to do it, but I wanted to raise awareness and my reasons for doing it were completely clear,” she said.
“I wanted to stop the taboo and get people talking about it,” she added. “It did the job that I hoped it would do.
“And it wasn’t even just me that had lost a baby, (Corrie co-star) Simon Gregson and his wife had also gone through it. It was a subject most people don’t like to talk about, but it’s more common than people think.
“As a woman I felt really lonely and I blamed myself, and as a woman you do blame yourself, continuously, but is not your fault, it happens.
“There’s such a taboo around it and nobody likes to talk about it. I hope we did something to change that.”
