Olympian Bode Miller and wife Morgan Beck welcome identical twin boys
The birth didn't go to plan
Olympic skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan Beck have welcomed identical twin boys, a year after the tragic death of their 19-month-old daughter Emeline.
But the birth of their adorable newborn boys didn’t go quite to plan, with Bode Miller revealing that he helped bring them into the world in a speedy birth on Friday.
Speaking on the Today show, Bode said he had to deliver the babies, with the help of his mum.
He said, “The birth story was actually one of the more crazy things that I’ve ever experienced.”
According to Bode, the midwives didn’t arrive in time because his wife, Morgan, had told them she had some time to go before their arrival. He said, "None of the midwives actually made it on time. They started coming over and by the time they got there, me and my mom were both holding the babies.”

The sports star told the show’s hosts that thankfully he was with his mum, who used to be a midwife.

He said, “Yeah, luckily my mom was a midwife, but she hadn’t delivered babies in 20-plus years, and she never delivered twins. We were both pretty relaxed and pretty casual, but we were certainly not qualified to be doing an unassisted home delivery of twins.”
Following the birth, professional beach volleyball player Morgan, posted pictures of their babies on Instagram.
She called the birth “mind blowing", explaining that she'd share her side of the story soon.
The couple are keeping the names of the twin boys under wraps for now.
In August, the couple revealed they were expecting - a year after their daughter Emeline tragically died by drowning in a pool.
Emeline was just a year and a half when Morgan shared the devastating news on her Instagram in June 2018. She wrote, 'We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this.'
Bode and Morgan also have a son Easton, who was born in October last year, and four-year-old son Nash.
The Olympian also has 11-year-old daughter Dace and six-year-old son Nate, from a previous relationship.
Morgan has said that she believes Emeline played a role in the pair getting pregnant with twins.
In an Instagram post announcing the pregnancy earlier this year, she said, “we knew Emmy had her hands in this miracle somehow.”
