Jessica Ransom
Jessica is a freelance food writer, stylist and recipe tester. She was previously Senior Food Writer at Future. While working at Future Jessica wrote food and drink-related news stories and features, curated product pages, tested new equipment, and developed recipes that she then styled on food shoots.
An enthusiastic, self-taught cook Jess adores eating out and sharing great food and drink with friends and family. She has completed the Level 1 Associate course at the Academy of Cheese and is continually building on her knowledge of beers, wines, and spirits. When Jessica is not working or eating, she enjoys traveling, with Argentina and Puglia ranking highly as two of her favourite destinations. Wine, steak, pasta, and sunshine - is there anything better?
In April 2017, while studying at City University of London for her master's degree in Magazine Journalism, which she completed with distinction, Jessica secured a place in TI Media’s digital internship programme. During this time Jessica developed her SEO skills and grew her understanding of digital and social strategy.
Jessica then went on to work as a digital writer for Goodto.com where she wrote about the latest parenting debates, celebrity pregnancies and marriages, family health news, and bargain buys. She also assisted on recipe video shoots and helped improve and maintain the site’s recipe SEO rankings. She has also worked as a freelance restaurant reviewer and hopes to continue this.
